Splat Roleplay Expectations
General Expectations
Cross Splat knowledge is exceedingly rare, even among participants in a mutual activity. Werewolves are often times too repulsed by most kindred to even distinguish them once identified, let alone be aware of the various kindred factions or structures. Kindred are equally shunned from most Garou society to prevent a deeper understanding of most of their religion or social structure. This is not to say that knowledge is impossible, or that star crossed lovers are discouraged, but that characters should have justifications past "My friend who knows what these things are told me" for using advanced knowledge in this way.
Faction Leader Expectations
- Faction Leaders are held to a higher standard for their respective splat, similar to how Trusted Ancilla players are.
Vampire the Masquerade Expectations
Kindred society is a stratification of knowledge, with the oldest having a lion's share, and the youngest largely unable to do much better than taking the word of their elders. True knowledge of agreements such as the former Convention of Thorns or the Giovanni Promise are kept to the most esoteric scholars, and the original pens of the documents. Soft agreements and understands in spirit of agreements that are hard to understand, are the norm.
Kindred Society is held together through obligations, slavery, and ties between the sire and childe. Even the Anarch Free State is largely defined by its opposition to these things, more than a unified vision. Autarkis are exceptionally rare in established cities, and the dead sire cliche can only cover so many character types. Be a part of your clan, especially as one that generally honors it higher than sect such as the Nosferatu or Venture. Off screen characters are perfectly acceptable as sires. Minor canon character relation can spice up a character's backstory, but ten sons of Hardestadt would not be a compelling story!
Werewolf the Apocalypse Expectations
Kindred of the East (Hungry Dead) Expectations
(Due to the numerous terms, Kuei-Jin, Wan-Kuei, Gaki, Asuras, and so on. We'll be using Hungry Dead in general to refer to the escapees of the Thousand Hells)
Whether you are an elder that travelled to the Golden Mountains from far East or you have undertaken your Second Breath within these lands. Know that you are a guest or a foreigner in different lands. You are few, with the Hungry Dead numbering only in two hands, as well as unlikely to find your own peers. A far cry from the dozens upon dozens of Kindred that lurk within the city.
As such the Hungry Dead must make sure that they remain inconspicuous and out of trouble as much as possible. Your focus without the Courtly Intrigues of the East, is to honor yourself and the Dharma you take upon. Causing troubles and making a scenes will make problems for other Hungry Dead and disrupt the Scarlet Screen. That is not to say the Hungry Dead are passive, only that the most auspicious ones can impact greatly upon the world while letting their influence be unknown as possible. In the end we are not the majority nor do we have a full presence within these lands.
As a Hungry Dead, you start out as a Disciple. As such their splat is one that requires the most amount of knowledge possible for you to understand. With the minimum amount of knowledge needed is the basics of what a Hungry Dead is, and the tenets of your Dharma as it is your guideline in your second chance at life.
You are in a unique position of being a splat that has the least amount of biases and connections in these lands. While this does mean you have less influence than say the Cainites. You are also able to interact with the various splats on your own terms.
(The original texts writings of innate hate and conflict between "The East vs the West" and thus fights against the Kindred are waived away. As those were really racist in context, please do not also use terms such as Gweilos and generally act hostile on Kindred on those contexts. Hostility on Kindred for personal matters or philosophical differences are still fine.)
The Kindred do not know you well, only that you are "vampiric" as they are, and thus likely pit you as rare bloodlines.
The Garou in turn can sense the trappings of Yomi within your soul, but as you ascend upon your path, less of it is made. As such you are more likely able to interact with them than Kindred ever will (Lore-Wise).
Due to these facts, it is up to you connect to the other factions of the city in your own way. Know however that your actions easily affect the perception of others upon the Hungry Dead. As such if not respect, cordiality is best done. Allowing the factions to believe your fellows are to be culled is a grave omen indeed.
